On one end, Ajmal Kasab (One of the terrorists attackers) is still breathing strong inside a heavily guarded cell, the other end, we have the family of the ones dead, crying year over year on this day and praying for such thing not to happen again. The Act of rememberance is the one of the best things we as Indians could do.That's exactly what 23-year-old Shonan Kothari from Mumbai did. She is employed with a CSR consultancy and wanted to do something to pay tribute to the ones who lost their lives in 26/11 attacks 3 years back. FlashMob! She explained this idea to a group of friends and they all practiced for few weeks. They grooved for A R Rahman's number from the title track of movie "Rang De Basanti". The top it all, this happened in Mumbai CST railway station where the attacks happened. The crowd was initially surprised to see people dancing and music being played on speakers, but then later they enjoyed and few of them danced along.

When its Selvaraghavan, It has to be different. Selva comes back with a mindblowing Script and joined hands with his brother Dhanush and given yet another Super hit. This is the 3rd movie Dhanush and Selva have delivered and this one is a stunner. Award winning performance by Dhanush, Strong Debut by Richa Gangopadhyay, wonderful screenplay and last but not the least touching background score by GV Prakash.
Mayakkam Enna is about a Passionate Shutter bug Karthik who wants to make a career out of photography. He and his sister are orphaned at a very young age and its his friends who take care of them. Karthik tries every luck of his to join as an assistant to a leading wildlife photographer Mahesh but in vain. He is then given an opportunity to click some wildlife pictures and showcase his talent to Mahesh so that he can take karthik as his assistant. Not Impressed with the photographs, Karthik is rejected. While this is happening, Selva also pushes in a love story. Yamini (Richa) is introduced to their friends group by Sundar (Another friend) saying she had agreed to date him. Karthik is the 1st one to hate her and abuses her and other friends initially disapprove Sundar's relationship as he had hidden it from them but later accept Yamini. Yamini and Karthik still hate each other and dont get along. Later this hate turns into love after a series of instances and when Yamini leaves a voice message to absconding Karthik (after being rejected by Mahesh to accept him as assistant) about his wildlife photos being published in National geographic magazine in Mahesh's name. This is where it all starts. Love blossoms, At one instance, his friend feels betrayed for what happened but then later accepts it and moves on. Karthik and Yamini get married .
One day, Karthik reads the newspaper to find out that Mahesh used his photograph to win The best photographer award. Dejected, Karthik gets into Drinking, stops freelancing and a usual Drunk husband , helpless and caring wife drama follows. Yamini's works hard to get her husband some recognition and sends photos clicked by him to different Magazines. While this is happening, To add fuel to fire, Mahesh wins International photographer of the year award and gives a TV interview. Angered Karthik breaks the television and slaps and pushes his wife eventually aborting the baby in her womb. Moved by this, karthik who was jobless till now stops drinking and starts accepting photography offers coming his way. Finally, Yamini's efforts bears fruit when one of the leading tamil weekly publishes a wildlife photo clicked by karthik. Story takes a twist here and Karthik is offered a Contract in Discovery Channel for Wildlife photography. Movie ends with karthik winning International Photographer of the year award and thanking his friends and wife for playing a pivotal role in his life.
The script might sound normal, but the way its carried along keeps you stuck to the screen.
Oh yes! This movie does not end with a sad note. It makes you smile when you come out unlike 7G and Kadhal Kondein.
If you had thought Dhanush did not deserve a National award for his performance in Adukalam, then you will be very much convinced when you watch this movie. Let me mention, right after Adukalam, Dhanush has been delivering wonderful performances. His best till date would be Kadhal kondein, Adukalam and now Mayakkam Enna. Amidst Surya, Vijay and Vikram, Dhanush clearly finds a suitable place in Kollywood. I wouldn't be surprised if this movie fetches multiple awards.
Richa Gangopadhyay was a good pick. She is Soft, Strong and sweet. She has portrayed her character really well . You will remember Sonia Agarwal's performance in 7G Rainbow Colony.
Selvaraghavan needs no introduction. After Ayirathil Oruvan failed terribly, he strikes back and wins Confidence with Mayakkam Enna. His Movies, Kadhal Kondein and now Mayakkam Enna needs no dialogue to understand. Action speaks louder than words. Selva has also rendered his voice for songs in this movie. This is not the same selva which we saw, neither does he appear for Movie promotions, nor sing songs in the movie. But, here he has done both. This clearly shows how much he has involved himself into the script and put his heart and soul into it.
G V Prakash hits the chord right with touching background score and making Dhanush sing two songs in the movie. "Kadhal En Kadhal" and "Voda Voda Dhooram Korayala" will be heard in Radio and Television for months to come.

Desi boyz is directed by Debutant Rohit Dhawan, son of well known Director David Dhawan. David Dhawan is known for Comedy Entertainers. Desi Boyz is about two Indian born friends settled in UK Akshay Kumar (Jerry Patel ) and John Abhraham (Nick Mathur) and dates back to 2009 when there was Economic Slowdown. Akshay kumar who drops out of College ends up becoming a security Guard for a mall in UK and john Abhraham a Investment Banker after graduating from London School of Economics.

The Movie starts off with Recession as its headlines and little bit of laugh in the 1st half and gets emotional and stretchy in the 2nd half.
Its not New to see Akshay Kumar in comedy roles. John's acting is fake and makes you think if he is really fit to be an actor. John should have stopped himself with just ramp walking. Inclusion of John is purely because of the script which demands both these guys to be Male escorts.John suits the bill very well. Deepika padukone has carried herself very decently, no over acting seen. Chitrangada's inclusion in the movie was just to add a glamour quotient and a pair for Akshay Kumar.With Cat fight at its peak amoung top bombshells in Bollywood, casting someone alongside Deepika can only be an infamous good looking babe. With few films already in her kitty, Chitrangada was chosen . She is an Economic professor and a classmate who had a crush on Akshay Kumar 12 years back when they were actually students woos Akshay kumar who comes back to College to complete his graduation. Watching the movie will narrate why Akshay goes back to college. Its rather silly and you can see a blend of Main hoon na.
Anupam Kher with his witty dad image is seen here and there. Deepika and Chitrangada dont get to meet each other until the last few minutes.
Omi Vaidya (Chatur Ramalingam of 3 idiots fame) comes in as a interim boyfriend of Deepika and ofcourse prosecuting attorney, proves he can make people laugh.
Rohit Dhawan has delivered a movie which lacks substance. Comedy not taking the main stage i mean. Desi Boyz could have been crafted well if it had more characters in the movie. With bikini shows and liplock taking top priority in bollywood, Desi Boyz comes out as a surprise package with none of these in it.
Kochadayaan is Superstar Rajnikanth's next. Its now official. Kochadayaan is the title chosen for the new 3D movie to be directed by Soundarya Rajnikanth . K. S Ravikumar who has directed all superhit movies with Rajnikanth in lead role, Notable ones are Muthu and Padaiyappa will be writing the Story, Screenplay and dialogues . Kochadayaan will be released under EROS international banner.
Rana, Rajnikanth's project which was announced in April/May 2011 directed by K.S Ravikumar will be taken up after Kochadayaan.

Rajnikanth's Next Kochadayaan is aimed to be released by August 2012. This shows that Rajnikanth does not want to dissappoint his fans. This comes as a breather before Rana would hit the screens. Looks like Superstar is a bit hesitant in taking up Rana again as nothing good happened after Rana was announced.(he was hospitalized and was down sick for over a month)

Ra.One did not set the cash counters ticking as expected, this does not stop Shahrukh Khan a.k.a SRK a.k.a King Khan from making movies. Blockbusters and flops are a part of Cinema and one has to accept it and move on. However, Ra.One was a bit costly and King Khan has just done that. He was still happy with the way movie performed and also wanted to gift BMW 7 series to 5 most important people who have been a part of Ra.One. Superstar Rajnikanth being the 1st in his list.

Speaking about this Movie Don 2, The movie is directed by Farhan Akhtar, One of the few best directors in Indian Cinema today. Farhan Akhtar has analysed the Bollywood and the Indian film viewers choice very well and has been giving very good movies every since he made his formal debut as Director in Dil Chahta Hai. The Movie was a slow starter and eventually went on to become a superhit. Same with Lakshya and ofcourse who can forget the last scene twist in Don (part 1) in 2006. Shahrukh Khan had put up a wonderful show in that movie and had left no room for complaints. He was carrying a major burden in his shoulder as he had to do what Amitabh had done in 1978.The movie went on to become a superhit.

With Farhan Akhtar deciding to do Sequel of Don 2, we are in for a another delight. King Khan will portray a character which actually suits him very well. Baazigar, Anjam and Darr are my all time favourites. Don 2, is co-produced by King Khan along with Ritesh Sidwani (Excel Entertainment) and Farhan Akhtar.

Steven Spielberg is undoubtedly one of the most influential personalities in the film industry. He is also one of the best directors in Hollywood. He has produced a lot of movies and also won The most Prestigious Academy Awards for the Best Director.
The Adventure of Tin tin is another feather in his cap. This movie uses a brilliant new technique of filming, Motion Capture Animation (like the Na'vi tribe of Avatar). This will be a series like Harry potter and i am sure the Tin tin fans can expect more to come.

The movie starts with Tintin buying a model ship (unicorn) from a Market for a pound and does not know that it contains a part of the clue to discover the sunken treasure which was in the Secret Cargo of a ship named Unicorn. Mr. Sakharine is a collector of model ships comes in search of this one and offers Tintin whatever price he asks for. Tintin then realises that this ship has something in it and denies the offer made. Mr.Sakharine already owns One ship and has 1 part of the clue. The last Ship (3rd clue) is with an Arab merchant Omar Ben Salaad. These clues put together can be solved only by a haddock and can help find the treasure hidden by Sir Francis Haddock and who has left clues in 3 model ships(Ancestor of Captain Haddock), The captain of the ship Unicorn. The Adventure begins here and Sakharine and Tintin along with Snowy and Haddock go down to Bagghar to get this. As we all know, with lot of action packed sequences, tintin manages to unfold the hidden location which happens to be Marlinspike Hall. When Tintin and Haddock reach the location, they manage to find only a part of the treasure (A hat full of gold coins) and a clue to the location of Sunken Unicorn where the rest of the treasure is. The movie ends here and all we expect is A Sequel. :-)
The movie is released with both 2D and 3D versions. 3D version would be apt only if you take your kid along, else, not necessary. You might as well wait for a blueray print to come out. Not something which you will miss watching unless you are a Tintin fan. The background score of this movie is not racey and sometimes puts you to sleep. I yawned atleast 10 times in the 1st hour. There is absolutely nothing stunning. If people say its awesome, stunning, well directed, well made blah blah blah its just because its a "Steven Spielberg" direction.

As i am writing this review, I am thinking, if SRK has actually seen this movie himself before concluding that it is fit to be released? Will directors just narrate the story (cream of it) to producers to win their confidence and then show their true colours by giving a terrible screenplay? What happened SRK? Why such a movie? Being in Film industry for close to 20 years, the last thing i expected from you was such a disastrous Magnum opus
Yes, I am talking about Ra.One. Phew!! This is all i did after watching it fully. The movie starts off well with a dream. A kid's dream of seeing his father as a superhero. Doesn't that sound great? Yes!! It does. Every kid's role model would be his/her father. There is nothing wrong in a kid who likes to see his father as a superhero. SRK (Shekar Subramaniam) is a geek from Tamilnadu (oh yeah! Unbelievable, i know) who develops computer games (of course not a freelancer, works for a company in UK) and wants to impress his son by doing something remarkable but fails miserably in every attempt. He finally develops a game (very similar to tekken) in which villain Ra.One has more power than a hero G.One. His son is impressed and wants to play that game. He plays it and goes on to a level which is not achieved even by the developers, Level 3. Yes, the game with just 3 levels in the modern day era. When Lucifer, the pseudo name chosen by his son reaches the last level, Ra.One who was defeated by Lucifer in 2 of the 3 levels wants to win this. How? By killing him. Now, the game is stopped and Ra.One comes out of the game and starts searching for Lucifer and to kill him. The actual Game starts now. Shekar Subramaniam is killed when he tries to cover his son and calls himself Lucifer in front of Ra.One. This is where G.One gets a life and comes and saves Lucifer in the 1st attempt to kill him. G.One's grand entry was not grand at all :-(. It's OK. It was interesting until this happened and the director puts in a lot of expectation in one's mind until this. Even i did have loads of expectations and was waiting to see some kick ass action.
While the 1st half is interesting, Few things which i would like to mention. SRK tries to eat noodles with curd and uses his hand instead of a fork. SRK, i guess you should do your homework more, Were you trying to show that tamilians or South Indians do this? If yes, you are wrong. South Indians are not dumb to eat noodles with curd, may be you mistook vermicelli to be noodles. We do not add curd, we eat it with chutney. Curd is added and fed to kids only if the dish (not noodles) is spicy.
Your Tamil was terrible. You could have very well avoided it than speaking. It sounded like you were trying to ridicule the "madrasis"
Did i see some action after the Intermission? Indeed NO! I did not. All i saw was some desi masala movie (typical KJo stuff) types and of course poor jokes cracked. eeeks!!
You get to know that Shahrukh has quit smoking (i guess so), tells you the outcome of smoking and how many people are killed and of course his sexual orientation is seriously another question in my mind. Is he a Gay? may be that is the reason he chose the "G".One for his character. SRK has got in Priyanka Chopra, sanjay Dutt and Rajnikanth to act in this movie. Why not Karan Johar?? isn't he your close friend Shahrukh? I also found a role for him in the film which would have suited him well. The airport security who checks you. :-D. Why did he bring in Rajnikanth or i will put it this way, why did Rajnikanth even act in your movie? Reason - Shahrukh gave away the name "ROBOT" which was registered with Red chillies after a phone call request from Rajni Sir. news spread like fire saying "Rajni was indebted to Shahrukh". Now, Its Payback time. Rajni gives a 1 minute cameo appearance and clears his debt.
Was observing karva chauth so important when you are trying to save a child from a villain? come on!! Action movies are not meant to be this way. For god sake, get this masala crap out and do some serious thinking. We expected a Hollywood style movie.
Okay, All said and done, Ra.One and G.One reach the 3rd level and fight it out and finally Ra.One is killed. His poor Jokes continue even during this fight.
What was meant to be a action packed movie ended up being a desi masala mix with some action in it. Visual Effects were good. Not worth 1 year of post production though. If this is all you can give after 1 year of PP, then i might as well choose Enthiran which has similar job done in just 1 month.
Enthiran (Tamil) a.k.a robot(hindi) is 100 times better.
"Condom Condom" instead of Konjam Konjam was cheap.
"C*nt C*nt... Control" was as dirty as it can get.
This movie is Indeed SRK's midlife crisis showing his cheaper side and awful sense of humour and of course his superhero misfit.
