Remakes have been a common practice in Indian film Industry. One of them is "Ek Deewana Tha". This movie is a remake of Tamil Blockbuster "Vinnai thaandi Varuvaya". The Movie was simltaneously shot in telugu with the title "Ye Maaya Chesave" and was released together in 2010. Gautham Vasudevan Menon Directed the movie both in Tamil and Telugu is the director of Hindi version too.

A R Rahman who has scored music in both Tamil and Telugu version has scored Music for the Hindi version as well. A R Rahman won the Filmfare Awards for the "Best music Director" in 2010 for his score in "Vinnai thandi Varuvaya". 

Ek Deewana Tha is produced by Gautham Vasudevan Menon's "Photon Kathas" and "IN entertainment" an Entity of hinduja group.

The Music of Ek Deewana Tha is set to release in January of 2012. The soundtrack consists 8 songs (6 similar to Tamil and Telugu version) and 2 New songs written by Javed Akhtar.

Ek Deewana Tha has been shot in Mumbai and Kerala. The Movie began taking shape in April 2011 and is now in Post Poduction stage. The Movie is all set to release in January of 2012.

The Movie's caption "A perfect Romance.... more or less" makes one think, why "more or less" why not just "A perfect Romance". To know more about it, Lets wait till the Movie is out in January.
